About this speaker
Bobby Johnson is the offensive line coach for the Washington Commanders, bringing over two decades of experience developing NFL and collegiate offensive lines and tight ends. Most recently with the New York Giants (2022–23), Johnson guided a unit that ranked top-10 in both rushing yards per game (129.2) and yards per carry (4.5). His work helped Saquon Barkley reach a career-high 1,312 rushing yards in 2022 and earned left tackle Andrew Thomas second-team All-Pro honors.
Previously, Johnson spent three seasons (2019–21) as offensive line coach for the Buffalo Bills, where he helped the team finish second (31.3 PPG in 2020) and third (28.4 PPG in 2021) in scoring. His development of Dion Dawkins culminated in a Pro Bowl selection in 2021. He also coached in key roles with the Colts, Raiders, Lions, Jaguars, and Bills (assistant roles), contributing to multiple top-performing offenses.
At the college level, Johnson coached the offensive line at Indiana, producing NFL linemen Rodger Saffold and James Brewer, and helped lead Miami (Ohio) to a 13–1 record and MAC Championship in 2003. His coaching pedigree includes collaborations with top offensive minds across multiple systems.
