About this speaker
John Harbaugh is the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens and one of the NFL’s most consistently successful leaders. Since taking over in 2008, he has led the franchise to 11 playoff appearances, four AFC Championship games, and a Super Bowl XLVII title. His 12 career playoff victories tie for fifth-most by a head coach in their first 16 seasons, and his eight road playoff wins are the most in NFL history.
Under Harbaugh, the Ravens have produced the league’s third-most total wins since 2008, including 160 regular season victories. He was named the 2019 NFL Coach of the Year after guiding Baltimore to a 14–2 season and developing a historically efficient offense behind league MVP Lamar Jackson. Harbaugh is also the only coach in NFL history to win at least one playoff game in each of his first five seasons.
Before becoming a head coach, Harbaugh served as special teams coordinator and defensive backs coach for the Philadelphia Eagles under Andy Reid. He is widely respected for his adaptability, leadership continuity, and postseason excellence, with the Ravens earning playoff wins in eight different seasons under his tenure.
